The beautiful Samana Peninsula, now has its first two NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) Scuba Centres.
NAUI was founded by Al Tillman and Bev Morgan in 1959 and is the oldest international not-for-profit membership training agency and the second largest training agency in the world. Throughout its existence, NAUI has continually maintained its position at the forefront of diving education. NAUI was the first recreational training agency to sanctioned Nitrox training in 1992 and continues to innovate safer dive practices in support of its members. In early 1997, in keeping with NAUI’s founding principles, NAUI published standards for teaching technical diving.
Many organizations specifically choose NAUI for their diver education programs – including Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The United States Navy SEAL Teams, the US Special Forces and NASA’s Astronauts are all NAUI qualified Divers and most of the top Universities, Colleges and Institutes of Technology in the United States also certify their students through NAUI.
